Dear New Boyfriend,

Treat her well and special. If need be, always give her a warm hug, she likes it, though, doesn’t always say. Never be the one to let go of her hugs, it puts a huge smile on her face. Always hold her hand when she reach for it; It makes her feel special. Laugh at her jokes, even when they are not funny, it makes her smile; That is something that completes my day. Play with her hair, rub her chin and massage her back and hands, that makes her comfortable and at ease.

When you date her, don’t give her chocolates, she never really eats those sweet things. Give her flowers instead, tulips to be more specific. Remind her that she is much more rosy and more beautiful than those flowers. Don’t treat her with chami or lomi, she pukes at the thought of it, buy her pizza, pasta and iced tea but be sure you control it for her, for her acid reflux would attack later on. Cook for her, she almost likes every dish except for fish and canned sardines.

Always be the first to greet her on your monthsarries and anniversaries. Those five long years of ours made me regret that I forgot to greet her for at least three consecutive months.

Call her, ask her what she’s doing, has she eaten, has she slept well, or is she bored? Text her until she falls asleep. Tell her your dreams and how she is included in every dream you make. Remind of her of things, she tends to forget them. Egg her, inspire her, motivate her. She has all the willingness, but her flesh is weak.

Compliment her on how she wears her dress even at her most boyish outset, she’s the prettiest that I ever had. When you kiss her make her close her eyes and tell her that come hell or high water you will never leave. Secure her unlike the way I tried to envelop her with the security she needs. Assure that there is none other but she.  She hates being left alone. Make her be safe, loved and caressed.

Surprise her everyday! Offer her poems, songs and letters of nothing but sweetness she really likes it and would treasure it till the end. Missed call her mobile even if you are a meter away from one another. Text her “I Love You” even if you’re sitting side by side.  Bring her bag, half-hug her while walking, she really adores being held. Every inch of the way, be sure to make her smile. She deserves nothing but the sweetness of moments.

Expect a war of silence when you make her jealous or you come closer with another woman besides your Mom. Sing for her. Dance with her. Play Tori Amos and Jewel for her. And yes she listens to Nirvana too.

Most importantly, love her unconditionally and continuously unlike the way I loved her. She deserves no less than the best, because she is the best girlfriend that I had.

Lastly, do not ask for her last boyfriend, she will never, ever tell.
